Incest Kliq : Episode 1-02 : Dreams of Desire

(Part 1 from 1)

Note : This story is completely fictional!

Carmen relaxed herself, leaning back into her cousin's arms and closing her eyes as a warm breeze brushed across her face. The two were on a hillside, sitting comfortably on the grass while watching the sunset; and what a beautiful sunset it was! The sun’s deep orange glow was a perfect offset of the sky's indigo, which was quickly fading into a light purple. Even that in itself would only last a few minutes before the sky went completely dark, the stars glittering into infinity.

Sitting in Nikolai's arms, Carmen felt entirely secure, as if nothing could get to her in any way. His presence was like a warm blanket on a cold winter night. So comforting, so confident, so strong… With her hair pulled behind her ear, Carmen rested her cheek upon her cousin and smiled, enjoying the touch of his skin to her own. Always being clean shaved, Nikolai's face was as smooth as Carmen's.

"Isn’t it beautiful?" Carmen said softly, her gaze fixed on the descending sun.

"Not nearly as beautiful as you," Nikolai replied. He knew the line was awfully cliché, but had a gut feeling it would work. He could see that it did when Carmen turned her eyes to his, a smile brightening her face.

"You’re so sweet," she said. There was a brief pause before the began moving their lips closer to one another…

…the next thing Carmen knew, she was back in her bed, alone. Her alarm clock was so loud that it seemed as if it was just beside her ear, dragging her back to reality. She rolled over, hoping against hope that such was not a dream. The only thing she found beside her, however, was her extra pillow that had been somehow turned during the night. Carmen sighed, dropping her palms over her face. "Damn," she muttered to herself. Suddenly her nose picked up on a familiar scent. Still in her black pajama pants and tank top, she crawled out of bed and headed for the kitchen. Nikolai was there (he was such an early bird), cooking breakfast: chocolate chip pancakes, scrambled eggs, and thick slices of bacon.

"Well good morning, sleepy head," Nikolai greeted, turning off the burner. He picked up the last few slices of bacon from the flat pan, transferring them to their plate on the table. "Thought I'd cook you--well, us, some breakfast."

Carmen took a seat at the table. "Aw, you didn't have to do that," she said, but could not help smiling. "I'm already gonna be leaning on you for financial support. Temporarily anyway." Of course, that 'temporarily' was going to last a while. Carmen was quite an accomplished writer, and had finally decided to settle down and write fiction novels. Nikolai had agreed to take care of her in the meantime, until she was published and started making her own money. However, she was only halfway finished writing her current project, let alone the editing stages. Nikolai did not mind. He knew he would be in this for the long haul when he made the offer to his cousin.

"So did you sleep well?" Nikolai asked, knowing how his cousin usually took a while to adjust to a new place.

"I had a good dream, before my alarm clock abruptly dragged me out of it," Carmen replied. "Does that count?" For a brief moment, she contemplated telling her cousin of her dream, then decided against it. She knew for certain that she had a bit of a crush on Nikolai, but did not want to act prematurely. Carmen wanted to be more sure that her feelings were not simply that, and that Nikolai would be returning them. Otherwise, there was the risk of ruining a perfectly good family relation.

*****

Nikolai and Carmen had left with Kat later that morning for The Meltdown, a night club Kat owned. Jeremy was the main DJ there, and Nikolai would be starting his job there as a bouncer. His arms did not look like they had much muscle, but those looks were extremely deceiving. He had also taken a few lessons in Jeet Kun Do as a child. Meanwhile, Carmen was interested in seeing the coffee shop that Jesse and Cynthia co-owned, just across the street. She brought her laptop along, intent on getting some writing done while she was there.

She had set up on a table near the window, though she did not get very much writing accomplished. A few paragraphs were typed, and then the rest of her time was spent sipping her coffee while her gaze was directed towards The Meltdown. She had not even noticed that someone had joined her across the small, circular table.

"Hey," said a gentle voice, breaking her daydream. Carmen jumped, a little startled as she turned. Sitting with her now was Cynthia, apparently finding a bit of break time. "Sorry, didn’t mean to scare you," Cynthia apologized.

Carmen gave her a friendly smile. "It's okay, I’m just naturally jumpy." She returned her eyes to the establishment across the street, Cynthia looking as well.

"Have you been over there yet?" Cynthia asked. Carmen nodded. "Wait till you see it during business hours. It’s pretty hype. So whatcha doin’?"

"Just writing my book," Carmen explained, finally focusing again.

"You write? That's cool." Carmen typed a few more lines, but was still pretty distracted. "Seems you’ve got something else on your mind."

Again, Carmen nodded. She leaned back in her chair, resting her hands on her lap. "I had this dream last night," she began. "Nikolai and I were… well, we were an item. I was actually pretty disappointed when reality reminded me that I was only dreaming."

"You like him, don't you?" Cynthia inquired.

"I guess I always have. As kids I thought he was kind of cute. Had a bit of a crush on him, though all the girls our age did. I was actually jealous when he got his first girlfriend. But now? I don't know. I'm not sure if what I feel for him is that same childish crush I had so many years ago, or if it's developed into something real. What's worse is that I'm not entirely sure how to figure that out either."

For a brief moment, Cynthia rested her hand upon Carmen's hand. "Don't worry," she told her. "You'll figure something out. And in the meantime, if you'd like, I can talk to your cousin. I'm pretty good at reading people.” Carmen opened her mouth to speak, but Cynthia continued, knowing what was about to be said anyway. "I'm also subtle. He won't know what I'm trying to figure out, or that I'm even trying to figure anything out at all.”

Carmen visibly relaxed. "Thanks. I'd appreciate that."
